Not at the height of day, through big bay windows lush with sunstreaming along the banks of a bookshelf, ripe with crisp pages, crinkled, caustic, words made for kindling.

I will not look at you in vaunted ceilings, twisted spires, god's needle, through the bulbous wings of an angel ballooned up on glass
stained

Nor will I glance through the bottom of a glass half-full stained
with the ghost of your sin, still
your preferred poison, and you'd chuckle
darkly.
